  Aretex, SA is a company founded in 1898 in Arenys de Mar, a few kilometers from the city of Barcelona. It belongs to the Corporación EmpresarialValls S.L., importing Spanish holding with several companies in the textile and graphic arts sectors. Aretex, SA has a production plant of 10,000 square meters, a logistics warehouse of 4,500 square meters and a fixed structure of 210 people.

In its beginnings, the company was engaged in the manufacture and sale of socks and tights. In recent years, it has introduced new product lines always focused on the newborn and up to 14 years old, with the intention of not only being a leader in the hosiery sector, but a brand specializing in child clothing and knitwear.

Industrias Valls 1, S.A. is one of the six members of the group, which brings together companies from the textile and graphic arts sectors, CorporaciónEmpresarialValls S. L., owned by the family of D. Manuel VallsRius, who was the main architect and promoter.

Activities were started early in the 20th century by D. Pedro Valls, and the Punto Blanco brand was launched nationally in 1948. Currently, Industrias Valls 1, S. Punto Blancois exported to over 30 countries, which are mainly located in the European Union because it is precisely where there is a greater sensitivity to the importance of quality.

Its activities and products include the manufacture and sale of socks, underwear, homewear, sleepwear, swimwear, bikinis and specialized socks for legs and feet with special needs of health,paying special care on skin. These products are intended for man, woman, child and baby, taking care of the design and quality of the final products.

Defiber, S.A. was incorporated on July 20, 1973 and has its registered office in the town of Banyeres del Penedès, Tarragona. The company is one of the six members of the group Corporación Empresarial Valls S.A. to which was incorporated in 1981 under the present brand name.

Defiber, S.A. has one of the most modern and technologically advanced plants in the field of manufacturing of synthetic fiber yarn, the only of its kind in Spain and one of the most significant in the EU. The company's main activity is the manufacture and sale of textured and twisted synthetic fiber yarn, specifically nylon 6.6., from polymer pellets of polyamide 66. Over the years, this company has increased its turnover gradually by developing innovative types of yarn that make up the different ranges through product diversification.

FITEX is a private non-profit organization that aims to foster the innovation process of the textile industry in a broad sense: product, process, management, knowledge and commercial strategy of the textile companies.

FITEX structures innovation processes by means of service areas for businesses: training, research and development projects, dissemination of new techniques and technology, and business services.

At a technological level, FITEX has been working for over 10 years in the field of a new science called "textronics", an intersection between traditional electronics (rigid), the promising new flexible electronics (or "Printed Electronics") together with the traditional textile.

In the last five years, it has been gaining experience in a new line of research, nanotechnology, with R & D projects involving the integration of micro and nano-encapsulation in extrusion processes for the manufacture of yarn and in finishing processes for the generation of smart fabrics.
